Q&A: How does donating money to a foster home help them?

Question by Kimberly: How does donating money to a foster home help them?
I like to donate money to all kinds of needies for animals and children and others. But sometimes I wonder how donating money helps them out. So, please, how does donating money to a foster home help them?

Best answer:

Answer by jeff t
Usually people who foster children get help from the state when it comes to money. And I am sure they receive all types of donations from people like you and agencies. And thus to your question. Well I am sure the states, agencies and your money goes to food, clothes, bills, entertainment ,,,etc etc. It’s really up to the foster parents and how they use the money and for what.
The only thing I hate to see is sometimes on T.V. you will adults foster kids just for that extra money. sad..

I’m not sure if you’ve come across Tyvek before but it’s a pretty cool material and is exactly what the Paperwallets are made of. It’s breathable but waterproof and is very strong and difficult to tear but easy to cut (with a knife or scissors). And it takes a screenprint very nicely too.

The guys from Paperwallet got in touch and asked if we’d like to design a couple of wallets for them so we thought we’d give it a shot. I already had the idea of using ‘the love of money is the root of all evil’ but then found the similar-but-kind-of-opposite quote ‘the lack of money is the root of all evil’ (which i can find attributed to both George Bernard Shaw and Mark Twain – take your pick!) I can see sense in both these statements to some degree or other so surely the best stance should be to respect money as a necessary evil of which you need some – but not too much! And this is where the wallet comes in handy – to remind you of this from time to time…

We’ve got one more wallet in the pipeline so expect something new soon.

Cheers

This is TOO MUCH — put an end to charging us for your mistakes & fat bonuses.
Fortunately, I bought my "C" stocks at less than .00 so it now is time to dump them (@.50). If I quit CITI, I’m sure I’m not the only one they drive away ….

Thus I’m downgrading the rating to SELL from HOLD. And given the runup, I think itis overdue for some profit taking :-) )

If I bet the farm on the wrong horse — I loose and end up on the street. Hard but only fair.
You gambled with more money than you actually had — and lost. And you still sit in your comfy office chairs !! You should be rotting in hell instead or at least be out on the street.

An interesting read The Size of Derivatives Bubble = 0K Per Person on Planet — apparently no one ever questioned this before :
1,144 trillion dollars in terms of outstanding derivatives,

1. The entire GDP of the US is about USD 14 trillion.

2. The entire US money supply is also about USD 15 trillion.

3. The GDP of the entire world is USD 50 trillion. USD 1,144 trillion is 22 times the GDP of the whole world.

4. The real estate of the entire world is valued at about USD 75 trillion.

5. The world stock and bond markets are valued at about USD 100 trillion.

6. The population of the whole planet is about 6 billion people. So the derivatives market alone represents about USD 190,000 per person on the planet.
6. The population of the whole planet is about 7 billion people. So the derivatives market alone represents about USD 163,000 per person on the planet.

Hell Money
money
Local Chinese celebrates the Ghost Month, usually around August, by burning hell bank notes like this for their ancestors. The afterlife for the Chinese is hell, and so they call this "hell money."

The Chinese understand hell as a place where money is needed to maintain life. Burning is a mode of transporting money to the spirits. Sending money is done to appease the ghosts, to keep them from coming inside their homes and causing trouble. To avoid the ghosts from coming in, money and other paper offerings are burnt outside the house.

Hellacious big.

If you owe money to the IRS, will they take your stimulus money to be repaid?

Question by redsonia1960: If you owe money to the IRS, will they take your stimulus money to be repaid?
One of my co-workers said that the IRS told her daughter that they will be taking her stimulus money, due to the fact that she owes back taxes. I thought the money is ti stimulate they economy, not the government.

Answer by jaxin
That wouldn’t make any sense. Your logic seems correct, if they take it for tax payments then it wont be spent.

How do know if a money order from the post office is real?

Question by Sweet L of North Carolina: How do know if a money order from the post office is real?
I need to know how to determine if a money order is authentic. How can a person make a fake money order? Can the money order be held up to the light and what do I need to look for? Will the ink run or fade if water is put on the money order.

Rep. Ron Paul sponsored this Congressional lecture on “What is Constitutional Money?”, part two of a three part series on the basic principles of money for Congressional staff. As a continuing educational tool this lecture was filmed and is provided to the public. The lecture was delivered by Edwin Vieira, Jr., JD, Ph.D, the author of the definitive work on Constitutional money, Pieces of Eight: The Monetary Powers and Disabilities of the United States Constitution. Dr. Vieira’s lecture explores the development of the American monetary system from colonial times through the creation of the Federal Reserve System, explaining the constitutional underpinnings of our money and the erosion of that legal framework over 200+ years of monetary history. He also explains his plan to return to sound money, outlining the grim ramifications of continuing on a fiat money standard.
